Well Trained Staff Provide Excellent Services
We believe that to provide excellent person-centered services, we must have well trained staff. In the past year, employees of Spring Meadow Resources have received over 2100 staff hours of training. We provide a wide variety of training to assist our staff to provide excellent services.

All new employees receive training to acclimate them to Spring Meadow Resources and the developmental disabilities field. Managers receive monthly training to assist them with supervisory responsibilities. CPR, First Aid, vehicle safety, incident documentation, medication assistance, harassment prevention, crisis management, and teamwork training is available to all employees.

Additional training is provided to employees as needed. For example, specific training on lifts and transfers may be given to staff when a client losses mobility and requires additional assistance. Employees who provide services to senior adults receive training on aging and dementia.

Changes in client medical conditions results in additional training so staff can continue to provide excellent services based on the individual needs of the person served. Training is provided by Spring Meadow Resources employees as well as utilizing community and on-line sources.

Quality Assurance
To ensure high quality services, Spring Meadow Resources undergoes a variety of quality review processes. We regularly request input from the people served and their families. Their feedback assists us to change or develop services that best meet their individual needs.

Managers and staff daily self-check their working environment. Peer inspections of safety and cleanliness occur quarterly. Spring Meadow Resources manages six adult homes in the Helena area, all of which are licensed by the state of Montana on an annual basis. Prior to licensing, all locations must pass inspections for fire sprinkler systems and inspections by the state or city fire marshal and the Lewis and Clark county sanitarian. In addition to these inspections, a state of Montana licensing employee reviews such things as fire drills, client files, client input into services, staff qualifications, and company policies and procedures, as well as making personal visits to each site.

Spring Meadow Resources is also nationally accredited and has had continuous accreditation since the inception of residential accreditation in the early 1990's. In March 2005, we received a 3 year certification, the highest award possible through the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

The financial department receives annual audits of company and client accounts to ensure accuracy and credibility and insurance policies to make certain ongoing, adequate coverage is carried.

The state of Montana Developmental Disabilities Program (of the Dept of Public Health and Human Services) also performs an annual comprehensive review of our services to determine follow through of contractual obligations.
